Crochet for a Spare Tire?

July 12, 2013

I saw this online a few weeks ago and fell in love with the idea.  Apparently, it’s more prevalent than I first realized.

I really want my next project to be this:

Isn’t it fun and gorgeous?  And a little strange?  🙂  I love it!  It’s like a piece of artwork for you car.

Convincing my husband, mostly sole driver of our Jeep, to agree is proving to be difficult.  🙂

We have reached a solution, which places the ball in my court.  Either I A) Make one without any lacy or flowery looks and incorporate his initials or some other words into it, or B) I drive the Jeep for a couple months.

I’m seriously considering it (driving the Jeep).  lol  Then I think of all the work involved and how temporary it will be, and I re-consider.  Eventually, I will arrive at a decision.  🙂

My friend had the great idea of somehow incorporating my logo into it for free advertising.  🙂

Here are a few other pictures I’ve pulled off of Google Images:

What do you think?  Should I go for it?  Or is it too “hippy?”  😉

That’s a really cool idea! Thanks for posting! (ps- I like the target best– the lacy hippie crochet doesn’t have as big an impact IMHO).

🙂 I like the original best too, I think (which is totally why my husband won’t go for it…).
