Ocean Waves Cuff – FREE Pattern

A few weeks ago, I had a fun idea for a new crochet pattern.  I started designing it that same day.  I then contacted my friend at Kathy’s Kozies and custom ordered some patches and buttons and the result was stunning!

This pattern works up so quickly and creates and adorable fashion accessory.  Whether you add flair through buttons, patches, or leave it simple, it is so cute.

OCEAN WAVES CUFF

Three sizes: Small, Medium, Large
Counts for each size correspond with the above color they are highlighted in.
Small = 6″ bracelet. Starting chain should measure 7″.
Medium 6.5″ bracelet. Starting chain should measure 7.5″.
Large = 7″ bracelet. Starting chain should measure 8″.

Materials:
– A small amount of worsted weight, or desired yarn
– G Hook
– Sewing needle
– Button
– Notions for decoration

Abbreviations:
st – stitch
ch – chain
sc – single crochet
hdc – half double crochet
dc – double crochet
dc-cluster – double crochet, chain 1, double crochet in the same stitch

Stitch Pattern is in multiples of 3+2.

G Hook
Worsted Weight Yarn
ch 32/ 35/ 38

Row 1: Starting in the 2nd chain from the hook, 1 hdc in ea ch across, TURN (31/ 34/ 37).

Row 2: ch 2, 1 dc in the first st, [sk 2 st, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next st] 9/ 11/ 12 times, sk 2, dc in last st, TURN (31/ 34/ 37).

Row 3: ch 1, 1 hdc in first st, 1 hdc in between dc-cluster, [2 hdc in ch-sp, 1 hdc in between dc-cluster] 9/ 11/ 12 times,1 hdc in between dc-cluster, 1 hdc in last, do NOT fasten off (31/ 34/ 37).

Turn work 90 degrees toward the right, so you are working down the left side of the bracelet.

ch 1, 1 sc in the side of the hdc row, 2 sc in the side of the cluster row, 1 sc in the side of the hdc row (4 sc). Fasten off and weave in ends.

Sew button on the opposite side of the sc stitches.  This would be the right of the work when laid flat.

Sew on any additional decorations, such as: patches or buttons, or whatever you would like.
